The European Logistic Centre of Bausch + Lomb is located at Schiphol-Rijk. The ELC measures over 20.000 square meters and there are approximately 200 employees with around 60 different nationalities. Quality assurance becomes more and more important in the processes of Bausch + Lomb due to the high quality standards that the eye health market requires. IT plays an important role in improving the quality and standards of products and services to its customers. The IT Quality Consultant is responsible for maintaining the high standards in combination with IT related issues and has an independent position towards the ELC IT organization. Projects have to be set up, changes of request have to be monitored. There has to be a continuous improvement of existing IT systems to meet and sustain compliance with internal and external requirements.

The IT Quality Consultant:
• Is responsible for ensuring that software systems are in compliance with regulatory commitments, in-house requirements and Good Manufacturing Practices in regards to computerized systems.
• Has to review software related Good Distribution Practices critical documents, e.g. Requirement documents, software validation protocols, change controls and discrepancy reports.
• Has to participate in Software Process Improvement activities.
• Manage the software corrective action process in case of failures or non compliance to company rules
• Participates in software change requirements gathering

Changes on the IT systems are now mostly initiated by the business. To serve business better the IT Quality Manager can take over that initiator role and take responsibility to make processes for example more efficient. Initiatives on that will be rewarded.

You have your Master or Bachelor degree at for example Technische Bedrijfskunde or something equivalent. After that you have at least 3 years of relevant work experience in an organization where high quality standards are common. Preferably you have pharmaceutical, Regulatory but most of all logistic experience in a GDP / GMP regulated environment.

You are, for instance, currently working as a Project manager, IT Auditor or Quality Consultant. After a few years in that role it is time to take full responsibility of your decisions.

That can only be done if you meet the right criteria:
• Experience of validations in a dynamic, multi-task operational and GDP complex logistics and or manufacturing environment
• Experience of scientific report writing including such documents as SOPs, protocols, deviations, reports, test plans, test scripts etc. is desirable
• Ability to evaluate and assess information to determine appropriate risk and required actions is critical.
• Abillability to manage multiple priorities

After all the IT Quality Consultant has to be decisive, has to communicate well, is self-motivated and is a good team member who really wants to continuously improve the IT systems of Bausch + Lomb.
